கவிஞர் பொதிகைத் தமிழரசன்
சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட வீரர் வீரவாஞ்சியை தந்த புண்ணிய பூமி நெல்லை மாவட்டம் செங்கோட்டை. செங்கோட்டையை ச் சார்ந்தவர் டாக்டர் கவிஞர் பொதிகை தமிழரசன் என்கிற கோமதி சங்கர். பள்ளியில் படிக்கும் காலத்திலேயே கவிதை கதை பேச்சு போட்டிகளில் கலந்து கொண்ட இவரின் இலக்கிய தாகம் பிளஸ் டூ பள்ளி படிப்பு முடிந்ததும் திரையுலகம் நோக்கி திரும்பியது. அது கைகூடாத நிலையில் படித்தால் தமிழ் தான் படிப்பேன் என்று வீட்டோடு போராடி பாபநாசம் திருவள்ளுவர் கல்லூரியில் பி ஏ தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தோடு இதழியல் இவர் விருப்ப பாடமாக எடுத்து படித்தார். அங்கு கற்கும் போதே பல்வேறு இதழ்களில் கதை கவிதை கட்டுரை எழுதியதோடு மதுரை காமராஜர் பல்கலைக்கழக இளைஞர் நலத்துறைநடத்திய கவிதை பயிற்சி பட்டறையில் ஒரு வாரம் கலந்து கொண்டு கவிஞர் பட்டமும் பெற்றார். தமது மூன்றாம் ஆண்டு இறுதியில் ரத்த மழை என்னும் முதல் கவிதை நூலை பிரசவித்தார் இந்நூலுக்கு கவிஞர் மு .மேத்தா அணிந்துரை எழுதியதோடு இவரை தமிழகத்தில் சிறந்த கவிஞராக மட்டுமல்ல பாரதியாக பார்க்கிறேன் என்று தென்காசி திருவள்ளூர் கழக சொற்பொழிவின் பொழுது குறிப்பிட்டார் பின்னர் பல கவியரங்களில் பங்கு எடுத்ததோடு மட்டுமில்லாமல் நண்பர்களோடு சேர்ந்து ஜனனி மாத இதழையும் , சரயு என்னும் மாத இதழை துவக்கி பணிபுரிந்தார். மதுரை காமராஜர் பல்கலைக்கழக தமிழில் துறையில் எம் .ஏ தமிழ் இலக்கியத்துடன் மக்கள் தகவல் தொடர்பு இயல் எடுத்து படித்தார். இந்நிலையில் , மதுரை தியாகராயர் கல்லூரியில் நடந்த மாநில அளவிலான அனைத்து கல்லூரி கவிதை போட்டியில் முதல் பரிசு வென்றார். பின் சரயு மாத இதழின் ஆசிரியராக இருந்து பணியாற்றினார். பல்வேறு இலக்கிய கூட்டங்களில் இவர் பெயர் உச்சரிக்கும் படி உருவாகியது ஜே பி ஆர் இன் நீதியின் குரல் என்ற வார இதழில் மாணவ நிருபராக இருந்து கவர் ஸ்டோரி எழுதி பெயர் பெற்றார். புதுவை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் எம். பில் மாணவராக சேர்ந்தவுடன் மீண்டும் வருவேன், புதிய அத்தியாயம் என்ற இரண்டு நூல்களை வெளியிட்டார். இந்த சமயம் பாண்டிச்சேரியில் இலக்கிய அமைப்புகளுடன் நெருங்கிய தொடர்புகளை வைத்துக்கொண்டு பல போட்டிகளில் வென்றார் அங்கேயே பிஹெச்டி ஆய்வாளராக இவர் இணைந்தவுடன் சமூகவியல் நோக்கில் நீதி இலக்கியம் என்ற நூலை வெளியிட்டார் இந்நூல் நெல்லை பாளையங்கோட்டை சென் சேவியர் கல்லூரியில் பி ஏ பி எஸ் சி மாணவர்களுக்கு பாட நூலாக வைக்கப்பட்டது. என் நூலை புதுவை முதல்வராக இருந்த பருப்பு மறைக்காயர் வெளியிட்டார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து இனி என்று வசந்தம் என்ற நூலை புதுவை உள்துறை மற்றும் கல்வி அமைச்சர் மணிமாறன் தலைமையேற்று வெளியிட்டார். 89-90 ஆம் ஆண்டு பாரதி தாசனை தந்த புதுவை சீமையின் வானொலியில் இளைய பாரத நிகழ்விலிருந்து நடத்திய பொங்கல் சிறப்பு கவியரங்கத்திற்கு தலைமை பொறுப்பேற்று நடத்தினார். அனைத்தும் மாணவப் பருவத்தில் தான். புதுவைப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஆராய்ச்சி ஏடான தேடல் என்னும் இதழின் பொறுப்பாசிரியராக இருந்து வெளியிட்டார் பல்கலைக்கழக செய்தி மடல் இதுலயும் பொறுப்பேற்று வெளியிட்டார் பல்கலைக்கழக தமிழியல் துறை ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் பேரவை செயலாளராகவும் இருந்தார் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் கட்டுரைகள் ஆராயப்பட்டு அதை தொகுப்பாக்கி திறவு என்னும் நூலை பொறுப்பாசிரியராக இருந்து வெளியிட்டார் பல்வேறு பரிசுகள் பல்வேறு இலக்கிய மேடைகளில் தனது இலக்கிய தரத்தை நிரூபித்துள்ளார் இதனை தொடர்ந்து புதுவை வானொலியில் இலக்கிய நிகழ்ச்சிகள் வழக்காடு மன்றம் போன்றவற்றிலும் நடுவராக இருந்து நடத்தியுள்ளார் . புதுவையில் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் பிஎச்டி வட்டம் மேற்படிப்பு முடிக்கும் தருவாயில் இவர் எழுதிய தமிழர் சமூக விடுதலை இயக்கம் என்ற நூலை தமிழறிஞரும் நீர்வள விஞ்ஞானியும் முன்னாள் அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழக துணைவேந்தருமான டாக்டர் வி சி குழந்தைசாமி வெளியிட்டார். மாணவப் பருவத்திலேயே பாடநூல் எழுதியதற்காக புதுவை பல்கலைக்கழகம் இவருக்கு பாராட்டு விழா ஆத்தியது. அதில் துணைவேந்தர் கே. வெங்கடசுப்பிரமணியன் பாராட்டி பரிசு வழங்கி இவரை கவுரவித்தார். பிஎச்டி படிப்பு முடிந்த பின்பு மீண்டும் திரை உலகம் நோக்கி சென்றார். பின்னர் மௌனத்தின் கன்னி நாத்து வெற்றி நம் கையில் காதல் ஊர்வலம் தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி வழிபாடு என ஐந்துநூல்களை வாசிக்க தந்தார். அதன் பின் தமிழக முதல்வர் டாக்டர் கலைஞரின் அணிந்துரையுடன் தமிழக மறுமலர்ச்சி என்னும் நூலை வணக்கத்திற்குரிய சென்னை மேயர் மு க ஸ்டாலின் நெல்லை இந்து கல்லூரியில் வெளியிட்டார். நெல்லை மாவட்ட கண்ணதாசன் நற்பணி மன்றம் இவருக்கு தமிழ் இலக்கிய நெஞ்சம் என்ற பட்டத்தை வழங்கியது நெல்லை வானவில் நடந்த சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலின் போது இவரின் தேர்தல் சிறப்பு கவிதை ஒளிபரப்பாகியது அதேபோல் சிறந்த சிறுகதை ஒன்றையும் ஒளிபரப்பாகியது. இவர் மக்கள் இலக்கிய இயக்கம் குறிஞ்சி வாசகர் பேரவையின் புறவலராகவும் கவிஞர்கள் பேரவை போன்ற அமைப்புகளிலும் பொறுப்பான பதவிகளை வகைத்துள்ளார் அது மட்டும் இல்லாமல் தென்காசி செங்கோட்டை உடல் ஊனமுற்றோர் சங்கத்தை துவக்கி வைத்து உடல் ஊனமுற்றோருக்கு உதவும் வாய்ப்பு உருவாக்கினார்.
: இவர் தனது 34வது வயதில் பிரபல தொழில் நிறுவனமான பிஜிபியின் கீழ் இயங்கும் விஜிபி கலை அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில் தமிழ் துறை தலைவராக பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்.

இதன் இவர் சென்னை மாதவரத்தில் இயங்கி வரும் அகர்சன் கல்லூரியில் தமிழ் துறை தலைவராகவும் துணை முதல்வராகவும் முதல்வராகவும் பொறுப்பு வகித்திருந்தார். சென்னை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் கல்வி குழுவில் உறுப்பினராகவும் திறந்த வெளி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் வழக ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளராகவும் பணியாற்றியுள்ளார். இவருக்கு மாதவரம் பால் பண்ணை அருகே உள்ள ஈடன் கார்டன் பள்ளியில் நடந்த மனித உரிமை கழக நிகழ்வில் சிறந்த கல்வியாளர் விருதினை உச்சநீதிமன்ற ஓய்வு பெற்ற நீதிபதி வேணுகோபால் வழங்கி கௌரவித்தார். அதன் பின்னர் திண்டிவனம் அரசு கல்லூரி, பொன்னேரி அரசு கல்லூரி , சென்னைமாநில முதலிய கல்லூரிகளில் பேராசிரியராக பணியாற்றினார்.
Sengottai in Tirunelveli district is the sacred land that gave birth to the freedom fighter Veera Vanchi. Dr. Poet Pothigai Tamilarasan, also known as Gomathi Shankar, hails from Sengottai. Having participated in poetry, story, and speech competitions during his school days, his literary thirst turned towards the film industry after completing his Plus Two schooling. When that did not materialize, he insisted on studying Tamil and, after much struggle with his family, pursued a B.A. in Tamil Literature with Journalism as his elective subject at Thiruvalluvar College in Papanasam. While studying there, he wrote stories, poems, and articles for various magazines and also participated in a week-long poetry workshop conducted by the Youth Welfare Department of Madurai Kamaraj University, earning the title of poet. At the end of his third year, he published his first collection of poems, 'Ratha Mazhai' (Rain of Blood). Poet Mu. Metha wrote the foreword for this book and, during a speech at the Tenkasi Thiruvalluvar Association, stated that he saw him not only as a great poet in Tamil Nadu but also as a modern-day Bharathi. Subsequently, he participated in many poetry gatherings and, along with his friends, started and worked for the monthly magazines 'Janani' and 'Sarayu'. He pursued an M.A. in Tamil Literature with Mass Communication at the Department of Tamil Studies, Madurai Kamaraj University. During this time, he won first prize in the state-level inter-collegiate poetry competition held at Thiagarajar College, Madurai. Later, he served as the editor of the monthly magazine 'Sarayu'. His name became prominent in various literary circles. He gained recognition by working as a student reporter and writing cover stories for the weekly magazine 'JBR's Neethiyin Kural' (JBR's Voice of Justice). After joining Pondicherry University as an M.Phil. student, he published two more books, 'Meendum Varuven' (I Will Return) and 'Puthiya Athiyayam' (New Chapter). During this time in Pondicherry, he maintained close ties with literary organizations and won several competitions. Upon joining as a PhD research scholar there, he published a book titled 'Justice Literature from a Sociological Perspective'. This book was prescribed as a textbook for BA and BSc students at St. Xavier's College, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli. It is noteworthy that the book was released by Farooq Maricar, the then Chief Minister of Pondicherry. Following this, his book 'Ini Endru Vasantham' was released under the chairmanship of Manimaran, the then Home and Education Minister of Pondicherry. In 1989-90, he chaired and conducted the 'Ilaiya Bharatha Pongal Special Poetry Symposium' at Pondicherry Radio, the birthplace of Bharathidasan. All this happened during his student days. He served as the editor of 'Thedal', the research journal of Pondicherry University, and also edited the university's newsletter. He was also the secretary of the Tamil Studies Department Researchers' Association at the university. He edited and published a book titled 'Thiravu', a compilation of research papers by researchers. He has proven his literary merit on various literary platforms and received numerous awards. Subsequently, he served as a judge and conducted literary programs and debates on Pondicherry Radio. While completing his PhD studies at Pondicherry University, his book 'Tamilian Social Liberation Movement' was released by Dr. V. C. Kulandaisamy, a Tamil scholar, water resources scientist, and former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University. Pondicherry University held a felicitation ceremony for him for writing a textbook during his student days. Vice-Chancellor K. Venkatasubramanian felicitated him and presented him with an award. After completing his PhD, he returned to the film industry. Later, he published five books: 'Mounathin Kanni', 'Naathu', 'Vetri Nam Kaiyil', 'Kadhal Oorvalam', and 'Dakshinamurthy Vazhipadu'. Following this, his book 'Tamil Nadu Renaissance', with a foreword by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Kalaignar, was released by the respected Chennai Mayor M. K. Stalin at Nellai Hindu College. The Nellai District Kannadasan Welfare Association conferred upon him the title "Tamil Literary Heart." During the assembly elections held in Nellai, his special election poem was broadcast on Vanavil TV. Similarly, one of his excellent short stories was also broadcast. He has been a patron of the People's Literary Movement and the Kurinji Readers' Forum, and has also been a member of organizations such as the Poets' Association. In addition, he founded the Tenkasi Sengottai Association for the Physically Challenged, creating opportunities to help people with disabilities.
At the age of 34, he is working as the Head of the Tamil Department at PGP Arts and Science College, which operates under the renowned PGP group of companies.

Subsequently, he served as the Head of the Tamil Department, Vice-Principal, and Principal at Agarshan College in Madhavaram, Chennai. He has also served as a member of the academic council of the University of Madras and as a campus coordinator for the Open University. He was honored with the Best Educationist Award by retired Supreme Court Justice Venugopal at a Human Rights Association event held at Eden Garden School near Madhavaram Milk Colony. Following this, he worked at Tindivanam Government College and Ponneri Government College.
